TeamSpeak 3 Offical Voice Chat

Introduction

TeamSpeak is a free application that allows multiple users to text- and voice-chat with one another. TeamSpeak is used by the Zeitgeist Movement for Chapter meetings or for discussion and chat with fellow members.

TeamSpeak is best with a microphone, but if you don't have one you are still able to listen-in and use the text-chat.

The Forum Rules apply to all communications on the TeamSpeak server, and moderators from The Zeitgeist Movement volunteer to monitor the voice chat.

This guide will give you some basic instructions for how to connect to the Zeitgeist Movement server. TeamSpeak is a fairly straightforward application and does not require any advanced knowledge to use. Once you are on the server, you won't have a hard time finding someone willing to help if you need it. You can also contact a coordinator for assistance.

Step 1: Setup

Download correct client for your operating system at www.TeamSpeak.com

Follow the installation instructions and complete the installation.

NOTE: During set-up, it is recommended you choose the setting Push-to-Talk. For example, you might set your hotkey combination to Ctrl+Z in order to activate your microphone. After installation, you may change/update this setting by accessing Options > Capture.

Open the software, click Connect, and enter the following settings:

For the server password, please Join, Log-in, and then visit This Forum Post where the password is provided. (This small measure exists to help restrict access to members only - i.e. to keep out would-be trolls/spammers)

And now you are on the server!

Step 2: Adjusting the notifications

By default, the TeamSpeak client uses audio notifications to announce the various events happening (i.e. user entered channel). Disabling these is not a necessary step, but is highly recommended.

To disable this voice pack go to: Settings > Options > Notifications. Once here you can disable each individual sounds that you do not want to hear, or under Sound Pack you can simply choose Sounds Deactivated.

As illustrated here:

Conclusion

These are the basic steps you need to take in order to use TeamSpeak. More information and help can be found at the TeamSpeak web site.
