The Zeitgeist Movement   is not a political movement. It does not recognize nations, governments, races, religions, creeds or class. Our understandings conclude that these are false, outdated distinctions which are far from positive factors for true collective human growth and potential.

The Zeitgeist Movement of South Dakota advocates the concepts of a resource-based, post-scarcity economic model as a means to improving our world. We call for a complete redesign of our culture in which education and technology become the means to alleviate the symptoms of poverty, war, environmental degradation and human suffering inherent within today's paradigm.

This is a global movement, in which hundreds of thousands of people around the world have shown their support by creating chapters in their respective regions, and spreading awareness and forwarding this direction in their own way.

Intention

The Zeitgeist Movement is a Sustainability Advocacy Organization which conducts community based activism and awareness actions through a network of Global/Regional Chapters, Project Teams, Annual Events, Media and Charity Work. The goal is to ignite a cultural evolution through education, and to create a sustainable and peaceful global society that benefits all the world's people.

We are an organization that proposes a feasible plan of action for social change. Recognizing the enormous social and environmental challenges we face today, we see this change as not only desirable - but necessary.

TZM-SD is part of a global movement. There is no central leadership or authority. This is not a political movement. This is a grassroots educational campaign, the success of which depends entirely on people (like you?) who recognize and wish to resolve the issues that affect us, and ensure a better future for those to come.

South Dakota Chapter

What does the SD Chapter do? As with the many other ZM chapters around the world, the main purpose of the chapter is to serve as a hub for people in this region to find, meet, and organize with one another. As the movement grows chapters will become more localized; this web site serves as a means to that end. At this stage in the Movement, our priority is to expand awareness of the facts and to increase support for this direction.

There are no restrictions on who can become involved and those who do are of great diversity. We are a movement rooted in the moral objectives of peace, tolerance and forward-thinking.
